YANKEE SPRINGS WINTER CHALLENGE
The 2026 Winter Challenge will be held on Saturday January 2. This year we are trying something a little different. We are going to run the 5k, 10k, 25k, and 50k on the 10k loop with a shortcut for the 5k. The 25k will be a 5k lap followed by two 10k laps. The 50k will be 5 laps of the 10k. We happen to think the 10k loop is a beautiful and challenging loop that takes you through the most scenic parts of Yankee Springs with a nice amount of elevation.

The Course
The 10k loop is all rolling, wooded single track trail with views of Hall Lake, McDonald Lake, and Long Lake. The 5k is the 10k loop with a shortcut. The 25k is one 5k loop followed by two 25k loops. The 50k is five 10k loops.
Aid Stations
There will be one aid station at 3.5 miles on the 10k course and one at the start/finish. Both aid stations will serve water, Gatorade, Coke, oranges, bananas, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. The start/finish will also have hot ramen noodles.
Pacers
50k runners may have pacers on their fourth and fifth loops. Pacers are welcome to food and drinks at the aid stations. We will have a waiver for pacers to sign at the start/finish. To avoid confusion in timing we ask that pacers step off the course before the finish line.
Race fees
Included with the race fee is a crew neck sweat shirt. Register by December 7 to be guaranteed a sweat shirt. After that sizes will be available while supplies last. An online signup fee will be added to the listed prices.
